AIKON Technical Note

When a control inquiry only says 'we need a cabinet' or 'please quote one VFD,' the technical review always starts too slowly. The right electrical and control inputs help AIKON match the drive, cabinet layout, and protection logic much faster.

1. Start with Motor Nameplate Data

Provide motor power, voltage, frequency, rated current, and quantity. If several motors operate in sequence or parallel, note that clearly.

2. Explain the Control Objective

State whether the project needs constant pressure, level control, transfer duty, soft start, alternation, standby logic, or remote monitoring. The cabinet recommendation depends heavily on the operating goal.

3. Confirm the Input Power and Site Conditions

Incoming power details, cabinet installation location, ambient temperature, ventilation conditions, and protection grade requirements all affect the solution.

If the panel is planned for outdoor or damp environments, mention that immediately.

4. List the Protection and Signal Requirements

Include any need for dry-run protection, overload protection, leakage protection, phase loss alarm, sensor inputs, or communication interfaces such as RS485.

5. Add Drawings, Photos, or Existing Panel References

If an existing panel will be replaced or expanded, photos and schematic references often reduce back-and-forth questions dramatically.

Takeaway

A better VFD or cabinet inquiry is not necessarily longer. It simply includes the inputs that let technical review start immediately instead of waiting for basic clarification.
